5.1 Introduction

In order to become acquainted with the mesh construction and modification modules, the reader is referred to the relevant chapters depending on his/her need:

• Chapter 1 which gives a complete example of the utilization of module APNOPO via its preprocessor APNOXX;
• Chapter 2 which gives a complete example of the utilization of module APNOP3 via its preprocessor APN3XX;
• Chapter 3 which contains examples of utilizing modules COLIB2, COLIBR and preprocessor COLIXX, module MA2D3E and its preprocessor MA23XX and, lastly, of module GEL3D1.

In the present chapter two supplementary examples are given. For each, and for the domain under consideration, the different steps to be followed in the mesh creation process are described in full. We therefore present:

• a description of the domain to be meshed;
• the analysis of this domain from a geometric point of view, in particular by taking the features of the mesh generators and the tools for transforming the possible meshes into account;
• the results of the above analysis and a flow-chart of the operations to be performed;
• the input data (the data file to be created);
• calling the module and a print-out of the execution steps;
• a plot of the resulting meshes.
