WCC'2001 INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON CODING AND CRYPTOGRAPHY January 8--12, 2001, Paris, France FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS http://www-rocq.inria.fr/codes/WCC2001/ ______________________________________________________________________ The workshop is organized by INRIA and sponsored by the ``Ecoles de Coetquidan''. It will be held, as WCC'99, at the ``Cercle Militaire'' - a high standard hotel located in the heart of Paris - from January 8 to 12, 2001. Conference Themes: Our aim is to bring together researchers in all aspects of coding theory, cryptography and related areas, theoretical or applied. Deadlines: Submission of an extended abstract by September 15, 2000 Notification by November 10, 2000 Final version for the book of abstracts and publication in the Electronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics by November 24, 2000 Topics include, but are not limited to: + coding theory: block codes (linear or nonlinear), cyclic codes, spherical codes, algebraic geometry codes, quantum codes, codes over rings, covering radius, weight distributions, soft decision decoding; association schemes; convolutional codes, turbo coding, soft output decoding; + cryptology: block and stream ciphers, hash functions, public key cryptography, digital signature, secret sharing, authentication, protocols, cryptanalysis, copyright protection; + connections between these two main areas, including, Boolean functions, sequences, finite groups, finite fields, algebraic geometry, function fields, random structures, lattices, combinatorics, designs, Shannon theory. ______________________________________________________________________ SUBMISSIONS Those wishing to contribute a 20 minute talk are invited to submit a 6-10 page extended abstract, before September 15, 2000, by sending an electronic copy (LaTeX or Postscript, see instructions to authors on the web site). If electronic submission is impossible, you may submit instead three hard copies to Claude Carlet, Program committee of WCC 2001, INRIA, Projet CODES BP 105, 78153 Le Chesnay Cedex, France A volume including the accepted abstracts will be provided to the participants. These abstracts will be published in the ``Electronic Notes in Discrete Mathematics''. FULL PAPERS All authors of accepted abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper for the proceedings to appear as a special issue of Discrete Applied Mathematics journal; all contributions will be thoroughly refereed. ______________________________________________________________________ INFORMATION Detailed information about this workshop can be found at the web-site http://www-rocq.inria.fr/codes/WCC2001/ or can be requested by e-mail to wcc-orga@inria.fr (for matters concerning organization) wcc-prog@inria.fr (for matters concerning the scientific program) ______________________________________________________________________ Invited talks: to be announced Program committee: A.
