Workshop on Coding and Cryptography
January 11-14, 1999, Paris, France
First Announcement and Call For Papers
The workshop will be held in the "Cercle Militaire" - a high standard
hotel located in Paris, at walking distance from the Avenue des Champs
Élysées. It is hosted by INRIA and the Research Center of the "Écoles
de Coëtquidan".
Conference Themes
Our aim is to bring together researchers in all aspects of
coding theory, cryptography and related areas, theoretical or
applied.
Topics include, but are not limited to:
- coding theory: block codes (linear or nonlinear), cyclic codes,
Euclidean codes, covering radius, weight distributions, soft
decision decoding, convolutional codes, turbo coding, soft output
decoding;
- cryptology: block and stream ciphers, hash functions, public key
cryptography, digital signature, secret sharing, authentication,
cryptanalysis, copyright protection;
- connections between these two main areas, including finite
groups, finite fields, algebraic geometry, function fields, random
structures, lattices, combinatorics, designs, Boolean functions,
sequences.
Those wishing to contribute a 20 minutes talk are invited to submit a
2-10 page extended abstract, before October 2, 1998 by
sending three hard copies to :
