Quick Reference: UNIX

If you are working on a UNIX machine , follow the procedure given below to install MODULEF using a magnetic tape:

% cd xxx

where xxx is the directory where you wish to install MODULEF

% tar xf /dev/rmt8

restore a magnetic tape (approximately 25 MB)

% cd make

% make

start of the installation

The above procedure corresponds to reading a tape. However, if you are reading a cartridge instead of a tape, step 2 is modified as follows:

• on Sun replace rmt8 by rst8
• on HP/Apollo replace rmt8 by rct8

The tape, or cartridge, consists of two directories:

ascii

which contains the source code, and

make

which contains the installation makefile.
