Title:
Web services discovery and integration based on behavior specification

Abstract:
With the growing importance of processes in current information systems and service oriented architectures, repositories with important number of process models are more and more numerous. Retrieving process models in such repositories becomes a critical feature in a series of applications (behavior based web services discovery, scientific workflow discovery, management of reference process models repositories). In this talk we present matching techniques which operate on behavior models (WSCL, BPEL) possibly enriched with semantic annotations (OWL-S) and allow the delivery of approximate matches, that is, if no target service in repository exactly satisfies the user requirements, the most similar ones will be retrieved and proposed for use. By using a graph representation formalism for services, we reduce the service matchmaking to a graph matchmaking problem and we adapt and optimize existing algorithms for our purposes. Finally, we address the problem of service adaptation given an approximate match between two behavior models. We propose a framework for developing web service adapters based on mismatch patterns.

Bio:
Daniela Grigori is an associate professor at the University of Versailles (since 2002). She received her degree in Computer Engineering from Technical University of Iasy (Romania) and PhD degree in computer science from University Nancy I (in 2001). Previously she worked several years at Romanian Research Institute for Informatics on developing information retrieval methods and tools. Her current research interests include web services, process management systems, business process intelligence. She has a number of papers in international conferences and journals and has served as organizer and program committee member in many conferences. She is co-author of a book on process management systems.
