3.1 Introduction

Three mesh generation methods are outlined in this chapter, specifying the manner in which the corresponding modules are called. In principle, all types of domains can be treated with these mesh generators. In the general case, the multi-block method (module COLIB2) is used. For topologically cylindrical domains, the extrusion method (module MA2D3E) is appropriate. In the case of a hexahedral topology, a finite difference method (module GEL3D1) is employed.

The mesh thus created can be introduced (keyword INTR) into the APNOP3 environment for modification, renumbering, etc.
