1.1 Introduction

This chapter is devoted to the solution of model problems , and presents the different modules within a concrete utilization context. The comparison of the resources required (memory space and computational time) displays the respective qualities and defaults of the methods, and enables us to know the optimal context of their application. The examples presented correspond to an execution on a Hewlett-Packard Apollo series 400 workstation.

The computational time enables us to compare the relative costs of the different steps of the solution methods. It should be noted that it is not given by the standard version of the main programs. The latter have been modified slightly in the examples of this document in order to indicate the computational time.
