6 Input management

The different means of input available on a graphics workstation does not constitute to suitably talking of an input terminal. However, they can be regrouped into one or several functions capable of performing all or part of the following interactions:

• Input of a position in a plane;
• Input of a position in a 3D space;
• Input of a curve in a plane;
• Input of text;
• Input of a value;
• Input of an identification (see Correspondence of names and elementary components)
